An American Airlines flight returned to Tulsa International Airport on Friday morning after the aircraft apparently struck birds shortly after takeoff.
American spokesman Kent Powell said the captain declared an emergency on Flight 1491, headed for Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, shortly after takeoff around 10:30 a.m.
