American Airlines Apologizes For Calling Couple “Deaf and Dumb”

When deaf couple James Moehle and Angela Huckaby received their delayed bag from a vacation for Hawaii, discovered an insulting and offensive tag on their luggage. An employee of American Airlines wrote this note, “Please text deaf and dumb” to alert personnel to call the couple of their recovered luggage.
James Moehle’s mother, Kaye Moehle, was outraged at the note, demanding the employee immediate dismissal. Instead, the employee will undergo sensitivity training, said the airline’s spokesman Casey Norton, citing the worker never intended to insult anyone.  ”I felt hurt for my son because I know how hard he works,” she told the Associated Press. James has worked as a technician at a Texas heating and air conditioning company for 16 years.
