Singapore Airlines and Jetblue in codeshare agreement

Singapore Airlines and Jetblue Airways have filed an application with the US department of transportation to enter into a codeshare agreement.

The two airlines have been interline partners since 2011. The expanded partnership would mean Singapore travellers gain an extra 16 destinations in the US, while Jetblue customers would have access to five new cities in Europe and Asia.

“The partnership is testament to our continuous commitment to expand our network and provide customers with more seamless travel options,” said executive VP of commercial, Mak Swee Wah.

“The opportunities offered by our combined network also show how we can achieve more by cooperating with the right partners,” he added.

Jetblue president Robin Hayes, said: “By expanding our partnership, Jetblue customers will now have access to many more destinations around the globe, enjoying the ultimate service and comfort throughout their entire journey.

“This is another first-rate airline partner for JetBlue in a short time, which truly reaffirms our growing status among airlines globally.”

Embraer and SkyWest Airlines Sign Service Agreement for the E175

Embraer and SkyWest Airlines announced, today, at the Regional Airline Association’s 39^th Annual Convention, in St. Louis, Missouri, that they have reached a 12-year component management service agreement by which Embraer will provide support for the carrier’s entire fleet of E175 jets. The agreement includes more than 160 repairable part numbers, covering 21 ATA (Air Transport Association) chapters of the SkyWest Airlines E175 fleet. Embraer also signed a 10-year contract with the airline to provide the Ahead-Pro system. 

“We are proud that one of our most valued, long-term customers has trusted Embraer as a service provider to support its new fleet of E175s. Embraer and SkyWest Airlines share a long history and partnership, since 1986, when SkyWest added the EMB 120 Brasilia to its fleet,” said John Linn, Vice President, Services and Support, North America, Embraer Commercial Aviation. “This agreement further demonstrates the continuous commitment to our mutual success.”

Embraer currently provides support for more than 30 airlines, worldwide, with its technical expertise and its vast component service provider network. The results are significant savings in repair and inventory carrying costs and a reduction in required warehousing space, virtually eliminating the need for resources required for repair management, and ultimately, guaranteeing performance levels.
