A Queensland man has been charged with an offence under the state's civil aviation act after a police helicopter was targeted with a laser light.
It will be alleged the chopper was conducting airborne patrols on the Gold Coast when its crew noticed the beam being shone at them from outside a residence in Fadden Close at Arundel about 7.45pm on Saturday.
They reported the incident and officers on the ground attended the address where they spoke to a 50-year-old man.
He was issued with a notice to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court at a later date.
