Martial arts trained? Emirates airline is looking to hire you


Dubai-based Emirates airline is looking to hire security agents with experience in the field of VIP protection, unarmed combat, martial arts as well as training in profiling.

If you fulfil these criteria, then you could be working with the airline in its security section. The position is to control all access to the cargo terminals/Emirates’ airport facilities and aircraft so as to ensure no unauthorised people gain access.

The requirements of the job include safe and secure storage, collection and delivery of cargo in accordance with various customer procedures.

On the job, successful candidates will have to “monitor, control and report all activities in build-up, breakdown, perishable, yellow line, delivery dock, export acceptance, EK tent, EK hanger, MHB and access to the cargo warehouse,” says the airline.

They will also have to maintain a total security service for Dnata/Emirates cargo product to ensure the safe and secure storage, collection and delivery of cargo. Those recruited will need to maintain maximum vigilance in monitoring aircraft as earmarked by the department as well as manage and escort disruptive passengers in-flight and on ground.

On the qualifications and experience front, the candidate needs at least 12 years schooling or equivalent, and fluency in written/spoken English (fluency in another language is an asset). Candidate must be physically fit and possess exceptional observational skills.

Due to nature of this job, candidates may be required to perform under stressful situations and should be able to thrive under pressure. They are required to have a positive attitude with the ability to work within a team environment, dealing with people from all cultures.
