Airline apologises for making toddler, 3, urinate in plane seat

An airline has apologised to a mum whose child was forced to urinate in her plane seat, because she was not allowed to use the toilet as they sat on the tarmac. Jennifer Devereaux said JetBlue flight attendants refused to let her three-year-old daughter Summers use the bathroom as they waited for their delayed flight to take off from New York's John F Kennedy International airport. During the 30 minute delay, the desperate toddler peed in her sea.
Jennifer told WBZ-TV : "It wasn't about bad customer service, it was about human decency."
"My daughter was sitting in a pool of urine and I couldn't do anything about it."
A statement from JetBlue said they had been in touch with Jennifer to "offer an apology for her experience", but said staff had been following rules that require all passengers to remain seated when a plane is on the runway because of the risk of sudden movement. The airline added: "The crew made a safety and FAA  regulation-based decision."
It did however give Jennifer a $50 credit towards a future flight, and offered to donate $5,000 to her favourite charity.
Writing on Twitter after JetBlue's offer, Jennifer said: "Happy tears, a really nice lady apologised to me!"
